Rows of Cherry Blossom Trees along the Yanase River

As spring comes, so does the blossoming of the cherry blossom trees along the Yanase river that flows on the north side of Yanasegawa Station. There are 124 Yashio cherry blossom trees lining about 2000 meters of the river. You can enjoy watching the pedals blow in the wind, creating a wind tunnel down the river which turns it pink.
While the cherry blossoms are blooming, there will also be food stands that open up in the area, and during the evening the festival lights will be turned on.
In addition to observing the cherry blossoms here, you can also have a barbecue.
Since there is only about 2000 meters where the cherry blossoms bloom, we recommend finding a spot early in the day.
Saturdays and Sundays are the most popular days of the cherry blossom season, where many people from the neighborhood come to visit. It takes about 23 minutes by train to reach Yanasegawa Sation from Ikebukuro Station in Tokyo. From there it is only a 1 minute walk to reach the cherry blossom viewing site.
