Saitama prefecture will hold events to commemorate the countdown to the Tokyo 2020 game.

Commemorative events are held three years ago, two years ago etc.

Sports Experience Event and Olympic Class

To raise the profile of Olympic and Paralympic sports, particularly for those events to be held in Saitama, the prefecture has been organizing sporting events for children responsible for the next generation through cooperation among sports federations, host cities and educational institutions.

Meanwhile, the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) hosts the Olympic class program based on the JOC Partner City Agreement concluded with Saitama Prefecture. Under the program, Olympians teach junior high school students about the philosophy of Olympism and the Olympic values through both physical and classroom-based activities.

SAITAMA PRIDE Ambassadors

“SAITAMA PRIDE ambassadors” are PR ambassadors who are on a mission to spread the word about Saitama Prefecture and the venues it is providing for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Anyone can become an ambassador by signing up at the Saitama Prefecture PR booth and receiving an ambassador certificate.

SAITAMA PRIDE Special Ambassadors & Special PR Supporters

Saitama Prefecture designates certain Olympians, Paralympians and top athletes as SAITAMA PRIDE Special Ambassadors while also recruiting influential figures who are in the public spotlight to be SAITAMA PRIDE Special PR Supporters.

 

Tokyo 2020 Nationwide Participation Program

Under the framework of the Tokyo 2020 Nationwide Participation Program, the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games certifies the actions of diverse organizations aimed at building momentum or creating legacies.

The program provides all kinds of people with plenty of opportunities to participate in local activities or events held to get connected with the Olympics and Paralympics.

Saitama Prefecture promotes the Tokyo 2020 Nationwide Participation Program as a supporter of the Olympic Games.

Flag Tour

Under the Flag Tour, the Olympic and Paralympic flags are taken around the country to communicate the significance of the Games and the values they represent as well as create a sense of unity in the lead-up to Tokyo 2020.

The flags toured Saitama Prefecture over a period of two months from July 24 to September 24, 2017, visiting 36 municipalities.

PR Video

To promote the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Saitama Prefecture has created PR videos to report on events and provide information about promising athletes hailing from Saitama Prefecture.
