Rare Japanese winter scene - Misotsuchi Icicles -

January is when it significantly gets colder in Japan.
The most recommended spot in Chichibu during this time is the “Misotsuchi Icicles”.
These icicles are located the the city’s Otaki area, and is a natural ice artwork that is created when spring water leaks through the surface of rocks.
Within the wilderness of Arakawa River, the middle of January to the middle of February is when the icicles hit their peak coldness  and is therefore the best time to see them.
The icicles are also light up at night on the weekends and national holidays, so please come and enjoy these magically colorful icicles.
